Adhering to the notion that ‘practice makes perfect’, Smeebu is an website designed to revamp educational assessment through online technology. It provides access to a number of NAPLAN practice tests for Years 3, 5, 7 and 9 with the aim of preparing students for the annual nation-wide test. The practice tests have been designed to build familiarity
with the NAPLAN test format and are available all year round, so teachers can deliver the tests regularly. It can be accessed via Interactive Whiteboard or on home or school computers, and provides instant student feedback (relieving you from hours of marking!). |
Similar to the Smeebu website, Studyladder makes available
NAPLAN practice tests through a FREE ACCESS signup. The site contains over 5000 activities to help students with the focused NAPLAN areas of reading, writing, language conventions and numeracy. Unlike the formal paper-pencil exam that is delivered every two years in schools, these get-ready tests are available for all year round so students can get on and practice whenever they like. It is a great tool to use for the aim of helping our kids perform well on NAPLAN. |

Spellodrome is an online interactive spelling program that
motivates children to be better spellers through fun and meaningful activities. Realising the importance of developing students’ reading, writing and literacy skills, this program recaptures reluctant learners with engaging spelling games. Its simple-to-use style facilitates independent learning, while also enabling students to seek support if needed. The program enriches students’ vocabulary and equips them with a range of spelling strategies, helping to improve their writing skills. The program requires a subscription, however provides users with an initial free trial to explore its capabilities. It can be used across all year levels - from Prep to Year 12. |
