It's the National Year of Reading and the theme for May is Escape.
What does Escape mean to you?
You can escape from somewhere or to somewhere. You could ask your class to write story based on the idea of escaping. They could type these stories up and then add them to your class blog.
What year do you teach? If you teach year 6/7 or 8 then maybe your students could handle doing a Blair Witch style video documentation of their escape from somewhere or something?
Doesn't Escape tie in nicely with studying The Hunger Games? What about doing a book trailer on The Hunger Games?
Does your school have an electronic newsletter? Some of the outstanding book trailers could be embedded in your newsletter for the school community to share.
Or does your school have scrolling television screen in the front office? What about having the book trailers shown on this screen?
